For reference, the FIA spec is here: http://www.fia.com/resources/documents/1342748455__FIA_Stand_8858_2002_Hans.pdf

The SFI specification is 38.1. This document is copyrighted by SFI so cannot be reproduced.  However, for a specific test protocol of ~68Gs it calls for an Fz limit of 4,000N (900#) and a Nij limit of 1.00.

We've heard that the Fz limit was reduced in 2007 to 3,200N (720#) but have not verified this.  Additional information on this subject is welcomed.

...and the only web link I've ever seen to 38.1 has disappeared. I have a copy but won't post it here unless I get permission. I've requested the pertinent docs from SFI, as a member of a SFI sanctioning body, but have never had a response.

RSI just needs to know what the number is.  They can't publish a change unless it's been verified.

I have the 2007 version of SFI 38.1 showing 3200N
I'll post it, because I'm not violating their prohibition on reproducing it without permission ... I'm merely forwarding the file that they produced and sent to me and there is no prohibition on distribution ...
However, this site limits posts to 128KB while the file is 161KB.

not a link to SFI directly but this link has a document that appears to be SFI 38.1 for July 19, 2007 and on page 6 of 9 it lists 3200N for Maximum Upper Neck Tension
